Bharath Hospital's services are provided at about 30% to 50% at cost, compared to the other private cancer care centers in the State. Inspite of this, many of the patients are not able to afford the cost of drugs, as they are very expensive. The Hospital has "The Free Chemotherapy program" which runs on donation received from Philanthropist organisations and invidivuals. The funds utilised for the purchase of drugs for curable cancer patients especially for children. The donations to the program is eligible for tax exemption under Section 80G of Income Tax Act.

Many of the cancer patients are under-nourished due to disease and their poor socio-economic condition. Cancer treatment further worsens the patient general condition and nutrition status. Bharath Hospital has "Free Food Program" to provide food for 3 times in a day at free of cost to the patients for general wards and Intensive Treatment Unit. The program runs on donation from Philanthropists. For a donation of Rs.8000/-, free food will be provided to all patients for one day in a year in perpetuity. A donation of Rs.1000/-, food will be served for a day free of cost. This program also carries tax exemption under section 80G.

The unfortunate part of the cancer seen in India is that most of the patients are diagnoised at an advanced stage when treatment is expensive and results would be poor. This is more in lower socio economic group and rural patients. To bring cancer diagnostic facility closure to this group of the patients, Bharath Hospital conducts 11 Free Cancer Detection Clinics on fixed days of every month at designated peripheral centers in radius of 150 kms. around Mysore. It also conducts free clinic on 4th Saturday of every month at Bharath Hospital & Institute of Oncology. Patients coming to these clinics are given treatment at subsidised cost. The Clinics also help to bring about the awareness of the common early symptoms of cancer and its curability.

Cancer has been looked upon as a mysterious disease of unknown region resulting in inevitable death for patients of the disease. Dr. B.S. Ajai Kumar has changed this view of Cancer for the patients of Mysore and surrounding districts through the high quality of services provided by his Mysore center.
